The beard is a fabulous make-up job as
I started Act I very dapper and clean shaven
but finished the opera as the drunken love-sick (for Mimi) wreck that you see.
The lovely Georgian Richmond Theatre was the venue for this Barber of Seville. I love singing Figaro, especially when my Rosina is the wonderful Sandra Ford as here, and yes, I can and do play the guitar in the show. Accompanying the Count in the Serenade is always a highlight for me.
